Job summary

Saint James Health in Newark, NJ is seeking a full-time Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) to join our growing Women's Health team. The WHNP will provide obstetric and gynecologic care across the lifespan, including prenatal care and preventive screenings.

This 4-day work week, with 10-hour shifts, offers an opportunity to deliver culturally responsive care in a Federally Qualified Health Center. Candidates should be licensed as NJ APNs and have WHNP certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Current New Jersey Advanced Practice Nurse license or eligibility.
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Women's Health Nurse Practitioner certification strongly preferred.
• Current DEA and CDS registration, or eligibility to obtain.
• Current BLS certification.
• Experience providing OB/GYN or women's health services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide prenatal care and management of OB patients within outpatient services.
• Perform routine gynecologic and preventive care.
• Conduct annual well-woman examinations.
• Perform Pap smears and cervical cancer screenings.
• Provide breast health screenings and education.
• Evaluate and treat common gynecologic conditions.
• Provide contraception counseling and reproductive health education.
• Screen, diagnose, and treat sexually transmitted infections (STIs/STDs).
• Provide HIV and STI prevention education and counseling.
• Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic testing.
• Educate patients regarding pregnancy, reproductive health, preventive care, and healthy lifestyles.
• Coordinate referrals and collaborate with OB/GYN physicians and hospital partners when higher-level or specialty care is required.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, MAs, behavioral health providers, case managers.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives focused on women's health and preventive care.

Saint James Health, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving the Newark community, is seeking a full-time Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) to join our growing Women's Health team.

This position is ideal for a provider who is passionate about delivering high-quality, culturally responsive care to women throughout the lifespan. The WHNP will provide both obstetric and gynecologic care, including prenatal care, routine GYN services, preventive screenings, and evaluation and treatment of sexually transmitted infections.

Schedule

• Full-time, 4-day work week
• 10-hour shifts
• Provides a consistent weekday off while maintaining full-time status

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Women's Health Nurse Practitioner certification strongly preferred
• Current national board certification
• Current DEA and CDS registration, or eligibility to obtain
• Current BLS certification
• Experience providing OB/GYN or women's health services preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and patient education skills
• Commitment to providing compassionate, culturally responsive care to a diverse patient population
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
