Job summary

Qualifications

• Eligible for Certification as Nurse Practitioner and Kentucky licensure as RN and NP.
• Two years of nursing experience.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in nursing with NP specialization, BLS and CPR/AED.
• Participation in professional organizations and quality improvement projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide health services to patients in accordance with clinic and university procedures.
• Educate patients on preventive care and prescribed treatments.
• Examine patients, diagnose conditions and plan care.
• Consult with staff physician as needed.
• Serve as patient advocate and implement treatment plans.
• Maintain patient records and ensure effective communication with staff and patients.
• Model advanced nursing practice and pursue ongoing professional development.
• Engage in departmental meetings and improvement activities.
