Tulane University Translational Science Institute is seeking a Nurse Practitioner I to provide medical services within the Health Center for Student Care. This role involves direct clinical care, patient consultations, and outpatient procedures in support of student health.
The ideal candidate will possess a Master's Degree, Nurse Practitioner licensure, and a minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical setting. The position emphasizes teamwork, leadership, and community engagement within the university.
The Nurse Practitioner I is part of the Tulane University Campus Health team of committed professionals dedicated to supporting and promoting student health and wellbeing as a core institutional value through a multidisciplinary, comprehensive approach. This position resides within The Health Center for Student Care, and reports to the Medical Director. This position is responsible for providing clinical services, referral to specialists, and provide health education/literacy.
The Nurse Practitioner I is a part of the medical team that provides health care services to the student population at Tulane University. This position provides medical assessments and exams, health education/literacy, referrals, and health screenings in a wide variety of clinic settings. The Health Center for Student Care operates clinical service to students through primary care, women’s health, and men’s health clinics. The Nurse Practitioner I also provides outpatient procedures such as suture/staple placement and removal, I&D, cryotherapy, fluorescence eye staining, removal of foreign body, and other procedures as certified. This position is a part of the health Center provider group and attends regular meetings, participates in peer review projects, grand rounds, and is involved in community engagement activities. As part of a multidisciplinary team, this position demonstrates qualities of effective leadership, communication, and professionalism.
