Job summary

Quality Correctional Health Care is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide on-site medical services to inmates across our correctional facilities. You will direct medical orders and document encounters in the medical record, working closely with our nursing staff.

Ideal candidates hold a Master's in Nursing, current CRNP license, and BLS certification, with 1–3 years of NP experience; corrections experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing is required.
• Must have current and valid CRNP license.
• Must have current, unencumbered license in the state of practice.
• 1-3 years of NP experience preferred.
• Experience working in corrections preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nurse practitioner services on-site to inmates at QCHC facilities.
• Give appropriate medical orders to direct medical and nursing care by QCHC staff at sites.
• Document all clinical encounters in the medical record.
• Participate in quality assurance, risk management, and staff education activities.
• Coordinate and communicate with jail administration as necessary.
• Participate in meetings with jail administration, sheriffs, and/or other county officials; coordinate with off-site providers.
