Job summary

AppleGate Recovery, a division of BayMark Health Services, is seeking a Contract Nurse Practitioner for an outpatient setting in Decatur, AL. Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 20 hours per pay period.

You will assess and treat patients with addiction medicine needs, document care, and provide counseling and education to support recovery. Qualifications include AL NP license, background check, and at least 6 months of addiction medicine experience; drug rehabilitation training is preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in Alabama.
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
• At least 6 months of addiction medicine experience.
• Addiction medicine training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care in an outpatient addiction treatment setting.
• Collect and record patient data with assessment and plan.
• Counsel patients and explain limitations and abilities.
• Document patient progress according to policies and procedures.
• Supervise and instruct patients in oral medication self-administration and health education.
• Follow program policies and procedures.

Contract Nurse Practitioner Opportunity!

Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays. 20 hours per pay period.

Location: Decatur, AL

Essential Roles and Responsibilities

• Knowledge of various substances of abuse, the disease of addiction and signs and symptoms of detoxification
• Collects and records data such as complete HPI and Assessment and Plan for each patient in a comprehensive, accurate, and systematic manner.
• Counsels patients and helps them understand their limitations and abilities
• Documents patient progress/ regress according to established policies and procedures during appointments or upon notification of change in status from clinical coordinator or treatment center director.
• Supervising and instructing patients in oral medication self-administration and health education as needed
• Knowledge of program policies and procedures
