Job summary

A leading healthcare provider in Baltimore seeks a qualified Nurse Practitioner responsible for diagnosing and treating patients at Health and Urgent Care locations. Collaborating with physician colleagues, you will ensure continuity of care and coordinate communication among the healthcare team. Ideal candidates must hold a Master of Science in Nursing, be registered in Maryland, and have effective communication skills for patient interactions while promoting professionalism in healthcare practices.

Qualifications

• Master's degree and Nurse Practitioner program completion required.
• Minimum of one year experience as a Registered Nurse preferred.
• Knowledge of patient care principles across the lifespan.
• CPR certification mandatory.
• BLS certification mandatory.
• ACLS or equivalent certification as required by department.

Under general supervision, and in collaboration with physician colleagues, responsible for diagnosing and treating patients at our Campus Health and Urgent Care locations in Baltimore and Columbia. Provides continuity of patient care by facilitating and coordinating communication between the health care team, patient and patient’s family. Coordinates care to ensure quality, effective care and patient safety. Serves as link integrating relevant research and best practices; and other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

• Master of Science degree in Nursing with completion of a Nurse Practitioner program; Registered and currently recorded with the Maryland Board of Examiners of Nurses and Certified as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Maryland
• Valid state APRN Recognition (must meet education requirement(s) for state recognition and obtain within six (6) months of hire)
• DEA and CDS eligible
• CPR required
• BLS required
• ACLS and/or other relevant certifications as required by the department
• A minimum of one year experience as a Registered Nurse is preferred
• Demonstrates ability to promote professionalism through involvement in professional organizations, teaching, research, publishing, and/or certification in area of specialty
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population(s) served. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s requirements relative to his or her population‑specific and age specific needs
• Demonstrates highly effective verbal and written communication skills are required to interact with patient families, departmental units, medical and nursing staff on all essential matters
• Maintains updated mandatory training
• Updates immunizations as recommended per practice area

Total Rewards

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate’s geographical location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/ training and other qualifications.
