Job summary

Penn State Health is looking for a Pharmacy Technician at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. This full-time position entails assisting pharmacists with prescription medications and providing excellent customer service to patients.

The successful candidate must have a High School Diploma or GED, experience in pharmacy, and a PTCB certification. The role also includes organizing stock and supporting the Medical and Patient teams within the institution.

Qualifications

• 6 months of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy or graduate of a formalized Pharmacy Technician Training Program.
• Ability to read, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions required.
• Must pass a proficiency test with a 70% score.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in processing, preparing, and dispensing prescription medications.

Job Summary

Penn State Health Pharmacy Technicians play a vital role in assisting the pharmacists in processing, preparing, and dispensing prescription medications. They provide extraordinary customer service to all our patients via face to face and phone interactions. Pharmacy Technicians professionally interact and communicate with Medical and Patient teams throughout the institution. They organize and manage stock to ensure smooth and efficient daily activities.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy with an educational background in medical terminology and computer use required OR graduate of a formalized Pharmacy Technician Training Program with a minimum of 120 hours in an externship program required.
• PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certified Boards) required.
• Ability to read, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions required.
• Good verbal communication, excellent typing skills and proficiency with Math and Algebra required.
• Strong Organizational Skills With The Ability To Prioritize Required.
• Must pass a proficiency test with a 70% score.
