Job summary

Ideal candidates hold NYS PA/NP licenses, NCCPA certification, and a Master’s in NP with BLS. Collaboration with physicians and nurses is essential to deliver high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required and must be from an ARC-PA accredited program.
• Current NYS license to practice as a PA is required.
• NCCPA certification and BLS certification are required.
• Master's degree in a Nurse Practitioner program and national board certification in a specialty area are required.

Responsibilities

• Take initial patient histories and perform physical examinations.
• Initiate, document, and communicate the plan of care and follow up.
• Perform daily patient rounds and monitor patient progress.
• Write orders for medications, labs, and diagnostic tests.
• Interpret laboratory and test results and adjust care as needed.
• Consult with attending physicians and care teams to ensure quality patient care.
• Note discharge summaries and prescriptions upon discharge; provide post-discharge instructions.
