Job summary

The NP/PA role at Blick Rothenberg in Phoenix, AZ involves collaborating with physicians to evaluate, diagnose and manage patients with chronic and acute pain in an outpatient setting.

You will conduct evaluations, develop treatment plans, manage medications including opioids per regulations, order diagnostics, educate patients, assist with interventional procedures as allowed, document in EMR, and coordinate with therapists.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted NP or PA license in AZ.
• Master's degree from an accredited NP/PA program.
• Current DEA registration or ability to obtain.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations and history/physicals for new and follow-up patients.
• Develop and manage individualized treatment plans with supervising physicians.
• Perform medication management, including opioid and non-opioid regimens, per regulations.
• Order, review, and interpret diagnostic imaging and labs relevant to pain management.
• Document thoroughly in the EMR and coordinate with therapists and specialists.
• Educate patients on pain management strategies and lifestyle changes.
• Assist with or coordinate interventional procedures as allowed by state regs.
• Monitor treatment efficacy, side effects, and signs of misuse; comply with PDMP.

Description

The NP/PA will work collaboratively with our physician(s) to evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with chronic and acute pain conditions. This role involves a mix of clinical visits, medication management, coordination of interventional procedures, and patient education within a supportive outpatient setting.

What You'll Do

• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including history and physical exams, for new and follow-up patients
• Develop and manage individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
• Perform ongoing medication management, including opioid and non-opioid regimens, in accordance with state and federal regulations
• Order, review, and interpret diagnostic imaging and lab work relevant to pain management
• Monitor patients for treatment efficacy, side effects, and signs of medication misuse; utilize PDMP and adhere to controlled substance protocols
• Provide patient education on pain management strategies, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications
• Assist with or coordinate interventional procedures (e.g., epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, radiofrequency ablation) as applicable to scope of practice and state regulations
• Maintain thorough, timely, and accurate documentation in the EMR
• Collaborate with physical therapy, behavioral health, and other specialists to support whole-person care
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with clinic policies and regulatory standards

Qualifications

Required

• Active, unrestricted NP or PA license in AZ
• Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
• Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
• Current BLS certification
• Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
• Ability to work independently while functioning as part of a collaborative care team
