Job summary

Health Advocates Network, Inc. in Goldsboro, NC is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to perform comprehensive patient assessments, diagnose and treat conditions, order and interpret tests, and develop individualized plans within scope of practice in a correctional setting.

Qualifications

• Current NC NP license in good standing.
• Minimum of 1 year NP experience.
• PSV verification from licensing board if required.
• Current certifications (BLS, N95 fit test, immunizations, TB test).

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, examinations, and medical histories.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic health conditions.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
• Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans within scope of practice.
• Educate patients and families on disease prevention and health maintenance.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to coordinate care.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Document patient encounters in the EMR accurately.
• Promote preventive care and wellness through patient education and screenings.
• Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines and facility policies.

Nurse Practitioner (NP) Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, examinations, and medical histories.

• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic health conditions.

• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and laboratory results.

• Prescribe medications and develop individualized treatment plans within scope of practice.

• Educate patients and families on disease prevention, treatment options, and health maintenance.

• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.

• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.

• Document patient encounters accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).

• Promote preventive care and wellness through patient education and screenings.

• Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines, facility policies, and regulatory standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current, valid, and unrestricted North Carolina license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.

• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as a NP

• Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.

• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test,..)
