Job summary

Wellpath is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to deliver comprehensive medical services to incarcerated patients under the supervision of the Site Medical Director and site physicians. You will ensure proper documentation and coverage scheduling, while coordinating with health services leadership to maintain care standards.

The role involves on-site routine and emergency care, adherence to clinical policies, and collaborative care in a corrections setting to support patient wellbeing and safety.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Advanced degree in an approved and accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Must have and maintain current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner within the state of employment.
• Must have and maintain current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Conducts routine and emergency medical care for inmates, including chronic care clinics and infirmary rounds.
• Adheres to policies and procedures for medical care, including SOAP documentation and formulary regimens.
• Assumes responsibility and reports any concerns to the Medical Director or Health Services Administrator.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and privacy for incarcerated individuals.
• Provides input into facility mandatory committees as requested.

Education

A graduate of an accredited school of nursing

An advanced degree in an approved and accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
