Job summary

University Health System- San Antonio is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join its health care team providing specialized care including preventive services and ongoing health maintenance. The position works across settings from ambulatory to inpatient, caring for well, acutely ill and chronically ill patients.

A Master’s degree is preferred and three years of nursing experience with two years of advanced practice is desirable. Texas RN licensure and prescriptive authority are required.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with advanced practice education as per Board requirements.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Must be a participating Medicare provider or eligible to obtain a Medicare provider number.
• Three years nursing experience required; two years advanced practice preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized health care including preventive care and ongoing health maintenance.
• Work in settings ranging from ambulatory to inpatient.
• Participate in the care of well, acutely ill and chronically ill patients.

Education

Master's degree in nursing

Post-basic or advanced education acceptable to Board of Nurse Examiners

Three years of nursing experience

Two years of advanced practice preferred
