Provides professional nursing care for assigned patients according to established standards and practices. Duties include assessment of patients, developing a plan of care, implementing the plan, and evaluating the plan. The position requires a high quality of care to meet the Hospital's core mission.
General Requirements
- Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines.
- Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission, and vision of the organization.
- Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (e.g., self-education, attending ongoing educational programs).
- Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services, requirements, and competency evaluations on time.
- Demonstrates competency in providing care to patients based on age, sex, weight, and needs. For non-clinical areas, attends training and demonstrates usage of age-specific customer service skills.
- Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
Working Conditions
- Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned area with moderate noise levels.
- May be exposed to high noise levels, bright lights, hazardous substances, body fluids, or infectious organisms.
- May need to switch between tasks of different nature without loss of efficiency.
- Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.
- May be scheduled as needed, including overtime.
Qualifications - Internal
Education Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing (Required).
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred).
Experience Requirements
- 1-2 years of Nursing Experience (Preferred).
Certifications and Licenses
- Current Georgia RN license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six months of hire.
- Georgia Stroke Core Curriculum & NIHSS within 6 months of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 1 year of hire.
- Crisis Response Training (CRT) within one year.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within one year.
Skills and Physical Requirements
- Organizational, communication, interpersonal, and customer relations skills.
- Ability to read and follow instructions, basic computer skills.
- Good vision, manual dexterity, and eye-hand-foot coordination.
Physical Demands
- Standing continuously (67-100%), walking frequently (34-66%), sitting occasionally (1-33%).
- Climbing, bending, twisting, pushing/pulling, reaching above shoulder as specified.
