Job summary

College of the Holy Cross seeks a Nurse Practitioner to deliver modified primary and urgent care for students, faculty, and staff. The NP will provide care with supervising providers when required and may practice independently with >3 years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality modified primary and urgent care to students and staff.

  • Develop and implement community education programs and student health initiatives.

The Nurse Practitioner provides modified primary and acuteambulatory care services to all students and to the JesuitCommunity. Care is delivered to faculty and staff when injured onthe job. Health information is shared at every visit to the diversestudent body to promote healthy habits and behaviors.

Job Description
Major Areas of Responsibility
  • Provide quality modified primary and urgent care
  • Provide emergency care as indicated
  • If less than 3 years of experience, Board of Nursing requires asupervising provider:
    • Provides care under direction and review of supervising provider,in accordance with written prescriptive guidelines and protocols
    • Consult and collaborate with supervising provider as needed
  • NPs with greater than 3 years of experience should apply forindependent practice
  • Maintain review mechanism of clinical performance by peers
  • Sensitive to diverse and cultural needs of students
  • Formulate and update NP protocols
  • Maintain licensure and certifications.
  • Be available to the RN staff for consultation when need.
  • Development and implementation of community educationprograms
  • Development of leadership and educational opportunities forstudents as indicated
  • Participates in the Quality Assessment/Quality Improvement andpeer review process as dictated by the AAAHC:
    • Suggest and support ongoing process improvement.
  • Optimize utilization of existing electronic medical records andprescriptive resources.
  • Work effectively as a liaison between various departments/usersto ensure that services,quality and costs are balanced. Practice in a financiallyresponsible way.
  • Active participation at department, divisional staffmeetings
  • Participate in performance reviews .
  • Advisor to peer educator group if applicable
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Individuals must possess certification as a Massachusetts NursePractitioner with a current license to practice in Massachusetts.
  • Bachelor of Science degree
  • Master of Science degree in Nursing
  • State and federal DEA numbers.
  • Two to three years of clinical experience in primary care oremergency nursing.
  • Current CPR certification
  • Understanding and respect for Jesuit tradition and values.

Salary: The salary range for this 10-month positionis $80,000-$85,000, commensurate with education, experience,and qualifications.
