Job description

Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – Oncology, Full-time or Part-time

Montgomery County, MD | $80,000–$170,000 (based on schedule & experience)

Why Work With Us

We're a close-knit oncology practice where every provider knows their patients — and each other. You'll join a collaborative team of physicians and advanced practice providers who genuinely support one another, share knowledge freely, and celebrate wins together. We believe great patient care starts with a team that feels connected, respected, and heard. If you're looking for a practice where you're a valued colleague — not just a name on a schedule — we'd love to meet you.

Two Schedule Options Available
Option 1 – Full-Time

Monday–Friday, splitting time between hospitalist coverage and outpatient clinic for variety in your daily practice. Flexible rounding (morning or evening) gives you greater control over your workday.

Option 2 – Part-Time

Prefer fewer hours each day while still providing daily inpatient rounding? This unique arrangement is ideal for those seeking better work-life balance without sacrificing continuity of patient care.

Position Summary

Assist our physicians in delivering high-quality patient care and clinical teaching within a collaborative oncology practice.

What You'll Do
  • Assess patients' physical and psychosocial status through interviews, health history, physical exams, and diagnostic studies
  • Write prescriptions for medications, blood products, diagnostic/follow-up studies, therapeutic measures, and post-discharge care per practice protocols
  • Determine patient eligibility for clinical trials based on findings
  • Interpret and evaluate test/study results, relaying key information to the collaborating physician
  • Administer therapeutic measures and obtain specimens as prescribed
  • Dictate follow-up letters to referring physicians and maintain timely, accurate patient documentation (history, admissions, progress notes, discharge notes)
  • Support patients and families through the emotional and practical challenges of acute and chronic care
  • Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds to ensure quality, coordinated care
  • Provide on-call coverage and hospital rounds as needed; triage patients to determine urgency
  • Help train new staff and support colleagues during high-pressure situations
  • Represent the practice in the community to promote cancer treatment services
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all applicable healthcare regulations
