Job summary

SELLATI & CO INC is seeking a Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join an outpatient Medication Assisted Treatment program in Virginia. The provider will diagnose, treat, and follow up with adults in a medically-assisted recovery setting, prescribing and monitoring medications used in MAT.

Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, care planning, referrals, and collaboration with primary care and specialty services to ensure best outcomes for patients with opioid use

Qualifications

• Licensed NP or PA in VA with current license
• DEA License held; X-Waiver preferred
• Minimum 1 year of practice as NP/PA in addiction/psychiatric care preferred
• Willingness to obtain X-Waiver and work early hours

Responsibilities

Nurse Practitioner/Physician's Assistant

In search of a Licensed Nurse Practitioner/Physician's Assistant to work in our outpatient Medication Assisted Treatment Program. This position will task the provider with seeing patients in a medically-assisted recovery program. The Nurse Practitioner/Physician's Assistant provides Substance Abuse care to the Opioid Use population, including formulating a diagnosis and a treatment plan and providing continued follow-up patient care; prescribing and monitoring medication used in the Opioid Treatment Program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Provide direct primary and acute addiction care services to adult patients
• Perform initial and on-going assessment of patients' medical, physical and psychosocial status
• Obtain and evaluate health and medical history; perform a physical exam, conduct preventive screening procedures based on age and history
• Identify medical and health risks and needs
• Complete accurate and timely documentation of observations, interventions, plan of care, referrals and follow-up
• Identify needs of the individual and develop a plan of care and/or education plan
• Make appropriate referrals to other health professionals and community agencies
• Reassess and modify the plan as necessary to achieve medical and health goals
• Monitor co-morbid issues and coordinate with primary care and other specialty agency to ensure best practices
• Provide medical guidance to the program regarding policy and procedures.
• Participate and engage in staffing and care planning meetings regarding patient progress and care.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant able to practice in the state of VA
• Advanced nursing knowledge and clinical skills through an appropriate educational program
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a practicing nurse practitioner
• DEA License
• Willingness and ability to get X-Waiver
• Ability to work early hours to meet the needs of our clients
• Experience in addiction/psychiatric treatment preferred
