Job summary

Brigham Young University—Student Health Center seeks an experienced Nurse Practitioner to deliver comprehensive care, assess patients, and lead treatment planning. You’ll provide clinic and ambulatory care, document findings, and stay current with medical advances in a supportive academic setting.

The position offers flexible hours (17.5, 28, or 40 per week), competitive pay, and BYU benefits. A Utah NP license and MSN/APRN are required with board eligibility considered.

Qualifications

• Current Nurse Practitioner license in Utah and Master’s in Nursing/APRN, board certified or eligible.
• Advanced assessment and treatment skills for adult, family and pediatric populations.
• CPR and OSHA certifications; stay current with medical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment in clinic and ambulatory settings; answer questions by phone.
• Document all findings, consultations, treatments, and diagnoses; review documentation for accuracy.
• Keep abreast of new developments in medicine.

You’ll assess patient needs, provide compassionate and comprehensive care, develop and evaluate treatment plans, and empower students with the knowledge and tools they need to thrive physically and emotionally. Please note: This position may be established at 17.5, 28, or 40 hours per week, depending on the employment agreement established at the time of hire.

What you’ll do in this position:

• Provide medical evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment in both a clinic and ambulatory setting; provide answers to questions over telephone.
• Document all findings, consultation, treatment, and diagnoses; review documentation for accuracy.
• Keep abreast of new developments in medicine.

Advanced Functions:

• Perform IUD insertion and removal.
• Perform Nexplanon insertion and removal.
• Perform surgical procedures, including Pilonidal Cyst removal, Lipoma excision, and Epidermoid cyst excision.

What qualifies you for this role:

Required

• A firm commitment to the mission of BYU.
• Current Nurse Practitioner License in the State of Utah and Master’s Degree in Nursing/APRN/Board Certified or eligible
• Advanced assessment and treatment skills used in the care of all types of patients (variable in adult, family and pediatric)
• CPR certified
• OSHA certified
• Fulfill requirements as listed under job scope and major accountabilities
• Stay current with medical knowledge and practices.
• DEA Licensure

Pay Grade: 55

Typical Starting Pay: $94,000 - $122,000

The actual compensation offered will take into consideration internal equity and may vary based on the candidate’s job-related experience, knowledge, skills, and other relevant factors. Candidates with very significant work-related experience may receive an offer higher than the posted typical range.
