Job summary

Associates in Gastroenterology seeks a Nurse Practitioner to join our GI clinic in Murfreesboro. You will collaborate with physicians to manage new patient consults and follow-ups, perform GI procedures, and coordinate care for acute and chronic GI conditions in a busy outpatient setting.

You will evaluate patients, educate them on conditions and treatments, and participate in procedures such as G-tube changes and hemorrhoid banding with training provided.

Qualifications

• RN license and NP credentialing as per state requirements
• Barred by licensure: graduate of accredited NP program and board certified with prescriptive authority
• Strong interpersonal skills and billing knowledge required
• Completion of an NP program with national certification
• Minimum three years nursing experience in clinic or hospital; GI experience preferred
• ACLS certification required

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage new patient consults and follow-up visits
• Provide routine and urgent follow-up care in the clinic
• Communicate care plans and results with supervising physicians
• G-tube changes and hemorrhoid banding (training provided)
• Medication administration and injections
• Order and interpret lab tests and other diagnostic procedures
• Perform comprehensive physical exams and document findings
• Educate patients about conditions, medications, and treatment plans
• Provide health maintenance guidance and illness prevention
• Refer patients to community resources when appropriate
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
• Provide telephone triage and patient consultations

Snapshot Of Daily Duties

Patient Care & Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage new patient consults and follow-up visits
• Provide routine and urgent follow-up care in the clinic

• Educate patients about conditions, medications, and treatment plans
• Provide guidance on health maintenance and illness prevention
• Connect patients with community resources when appropriate
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
• Provide telephone triage and consultation for patient concerns

The Must Haves

• Registered Nursing license as well as degree level required by each state to obtain NP license.
• Graduate of an accredited program and board certified with prescriptive authority.
• Strong interpersonal skills are a must, knowledge of billing services is required, understands the various responsibilities physician/NP/Patient relationship.
• Successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program with certification by a national Nurse Practitioner certification board.
• Three (3) years professional nursing experience in a clinic or hospital setting. GI experience is highly preferred.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification required.
