Job summary

Gastro One is seeking an energetic Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Memphis, TN. You will support patient care with a positive spirit, participate in daily duties, and collaborate with physicians to manage routine and urgent visits.

Qualifications

• Registered Nursing license and NPstate-specific license requirements
• Graduate of an accredited NP program and board certified with prescriptive authority
• Strong interpersonal and billing knowledge, patient-centered care

Responsibilities

• Routine follow-up visits in the office.
• Urgent follow-up visits in the office.
• Urgent and provider requested consults and new patient visits.
• G-tube changes.
• Hemorrhoid banding (after training).
• Large volume paracentesis (as permitted).
• Communicate patient care activities to the physician.
• Collaborate with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs.
• Order medications, labs, and diagnostics.
• Administer medications and injections.
• Counsel patients on health and prevention.
• Triage calls and provide consultation.
• Provide monitoring/continuity of care between visits.
• Perform physical exams and document findings.

• Communicate patient care activities to the physician (visit notes/test results).
• Collaborate with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients.
• Order appropriate medication, laboratory, and diagnostic procedures.
• Administer medications and injections.
• Interview and advise patients regarding health and illness prevention.
• Triage patient telephone calls and provide consultation.
• Provide monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
• Perform a physical exam and records findings.

The Must Haves

• Registered Nursing license as well as degree level required by each state to obtain NP license.
• Graduate of an accredited program and board certified with prescriptive authority.
• Strong interpersonal skills are a must, knowledge of billing services is required, understands the various responsibilities physician/NP/Patient relationship.
• Successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program with certification by a national Nurse Practitioner certification board.
• Three (3) years professional nursing experience in a clinic or hospital setting.
