The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to clinical excellence, exceptional patient experience, and collaborative practice within a multidisciplinary team.

Our physicians are readily available to support our Advanced Practice Providers while also fostering autonomy and independent clinical practice. This role offers the opportunity to apply critical clinical reasoning, evidence-based decision-making, and professional judgment to deliver high-quality, advanced patient care.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide comprehensive pre- and post-procedural education, as well as education related to cardiac testing and treatment plans.
  • Obtain thorough patient histories, perform appropriate physical examinations, place orders, and evaluate diagnostic, radiographic, and laboratory results to determine and address patient needs.
  • Initiate, monitor, and adjust medications in accordance with established practice protocols.
  • Continuously assess and monitor patient outcomes and develop individualized, evidence-based plans of care.
  • Recognize and promptly address patients requiring immediate or emergent care, ensuring appropriate escalation and intervention.
  • Provide timely clinical feedback and communicate effectively with referring physicians and health system partners to facilitate coordinated care.
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care for inpatient and emergency department (ED) consultations, including comprehensive evaluations and timely progress notes.
  • Identify and foster opportunities to build strong, collaborative relationships with patients, referring providers, and members of the healthcare team.
  • Participate in weekend call coverage approximately one weekend per month.
  • Maintain the hospital patient list and submit daily billing and scheduling documentation at the end of each day.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program at the master’s or doctoral level.
  • Board-certified as a Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
  • Eligible to obtain prescriptive authority through the Virginia Board of Nursing.
  • Current or eligible for Virginia state licensure and certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications for Healthcare Providers.
  • Self-motivated, confident, and able to work independently with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong critical-thinking and clinical decision-making abilities, with demonstrated competency in managing complex cardiovascular conditions.
  • Exceptional service-oriented and interpersonal skills, with a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a collaborative and service-focused approach.
  • Basic computer proficiency and experience with electronic health records (EHRs) required.
  • Previous professional experience in acute care, trauma, cardiovascular care, and management of complex comorbid conditions preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to function as a confident, motivated self-starter and effective clinical decision-maker.
PRACTICE HISTORY AND INFORMATION:

Our dynamic team of cardiovascular specialists has proudly served Fredericksburg and the surrounding communities since 2010. Today, Oracle Heart & Vascular is a growing 17-provider practice comprising three interventional cardiologists, four non-invasive cardiologists, two electrophysiologists, one vascular surgeon, and seven nurse practitioners. We serve patients across a health system encompassing two hospitals and operate an Office-Based Laboratory (OBL) offering a range of vascular and venous procedures. Together, these resources allow us to provide a full spectrum of cardiovascular care while maintaining a strong commitment to clinical excellence and patient-centered care.

Located in the rapidly growing Washington, DC, metropolitan area, Fredericksburg and the surrounding region continue to experience significant population growth, creating exciting opportunities to expand cardiovascular services across both outpatient and hospital settings.

The health system has invested significantly in advanced cardiovascular capabilities, including a state-of-the-art hybrid interventional laboratory supporting structural heart interventions and advanced heart failure technologies. A second electrophysiology laboratory further expands our ability to perform complex procedures, including Watchman implantation, left atrial appendage closure, and lead extraction.

Innovation remains central to our growth. Our OBL is a key differentiator, allowing us to provide advanced vascular and venous procedures in a convenient, patient-centered outpatient setting while expanding access to care and offering an alternative to traditional hospital-based procedures.

In a market where cardiovascular practices remain predominantly independent, Oracle Heart & Vascular is one of the fastest-growing cardiovascular practices within a 50-mile radius. We are seeking motivated providers who share our commitment to clinical excellence, innovation, and patient-centered care and are excited to help us continue expanding our cardiovascular service line in this dynamic and growing community.
