Job summary

Missouri Cancer Associates in Columbia, MO is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our oncology/hematology team. This full-time role supports clinic and telemedicine care under supervision of physicians, participates in prevention, screening, and patient education, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team.

The position offers a structured schedule (7:30–4, Monday–Friday, call 1 night/week), competitive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO, CME

Qualifications

• MSN in Nursing from an accredited nursing school and completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a practicing NP, preferably in oncology/hematology.
• RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing; active NP license.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Initiate and document interventions; monitor patient/family responses and prescribe therapies as indicated.
• Perform procedures with minimal supervision.
• Educate patients and families; promote wellness and reference community resources.
• Complete documentation and charge capture promptly.
• Contribute to staff education as needed; perform other duties as assigned.

This position is under the supervision or in collaboration with practice physicians, involved in the care of individuals, families and patient groups who are dealing with cancer or other related diagnosis. This care may be in clinic or virtually, via telemedicine. Responsibilities may include duties related to prevention, screening, and patient care. May serve as direct caregiver, health care consultant, or patient educator. Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and requirements. Supports and adheres to the MO Cancer Associates Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

This position is full-time (7:30-4, Monday – Friday) and located at Missouri Cancer Associates, 1705 E Broadway, Columbia, MO.

Call Requirements include 1 night per week.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans,implements,and evaluates care for patients.
• Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family responseandprescribes therapiesas indicated.
• Performs procedureswith minimal supervision.
• Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.
• Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
• Solidknowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
• Completes patient chargecapture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.
• Mayprovide palliative care for the patient and their families as needed.

Qualifications

Mastersof Sciencein Nursing (MSN) fromanaccredited nursingschooland successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.This position typically requiresaminimumof 3yearsofexperience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner, preferably inthe chosen specialty. RN state licensureand current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current state licensure asaNurse Practitioner. AOCNP preferred.Currentbasic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
