Essential Areas of Responsibility


  • PRN Position

  • Provide care to patients of all ages – children to geriatrics

  • Emergency Room consults, triage and medical care

  • Round, admit and manage health needs of patients with a range of complex, co‑morbidity disease conditions

  • Manage all inpatient care, including diagnosis, treatment and in‑scope procedures

  • Collaborate and coordinate patient care with physicians, nursing, and other health‑care personnel in the hospital and ER

  • Employ quality and process improvement practices to make the hospital a safer place and improve patient outcomes

Detailed Responsibilities


  • Diagnose and treat medical conditions; develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans

  • Effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare teams; foster collaboration

  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations

  • Work with healthcare professionals and participate in interdisciplinary meetings

  • Engage in quality assurance initiatives and analyze clinical outcomes for improvement

  • Adhere to ethical standards and stay informed about healthcare regulations

  • Stay updated on medical advancements and participate in ongoing education and training


Qualifications


  • Graduated from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Masters or Doctorate program

  • Emergency Room or inpatient experience of 1 year or more (required)

  • Board certified as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine or Hospital Medicine

  • ACLS, PALS, and ATLS or CALS certified

  • Must be able to obtain an unrestricted Minnesota practice license and DEA

  • Interested in a shift‑based condensed work schedule

  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Can work independently and be flexible/adaptable to changing patient needs

CHI Oakes Hospital is a 20‑bed critical access hospital that provides inpatient and outpatient services to approximately 14,000 people in southeastern North Dakota. It is a 24‑Hour Emergency Level V Trauma Center. The hospital is part of the larger values‑based organization CommonSpirit Health.
