Job summary

Penn State Health is seeking an Athletic Trainer to work under the direction of the team physician, providing athletic training services to student-athletes in the secondary school setting in Lancaster, PA. Responsibilities include prevention, emergency care, clinical evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation.

This PRN, varied shift opportunity requires a Bachelor’s degree, PA licensure as Athletic Trainer, BOC and CPR certifications, with initial eligibility for PIAA Weight Assessor

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Licensed athletic trainer in the state of employment.
  • Current BOC certification.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • PIAA Weight Assessor Certification (can be obtained after employment).

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Under the direction of the team physician, and in accordance with the Pennsylvania Athletic Training Practice Act, the Athletic Trainer is responsible for providing athletic training services to student-athletes in the secondary school setting. This includes providing preventative measures appropriately, standard immediate care procedures used in emergency situations, clinical evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation/reconditioning of injuries.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S)


  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Licensed in the state of employment as an Athletic Trainer

  • Current BOC certification

  • Current CPR certification

  • PIAA Weight Assessor Certification (can be obtained after employment)


PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S)


  • Minimum two (2) years experience preferred, however entry-level graduates with BOC certification are encouraged to apply.
