Job summary

Ascension Seton Northwest in Austin, TX is seeking an RN for Med Surg on a full-time day shift. You will implement and monitor patient care plans, coordinate care across disciplines, execute physician and nursing orders, and assist with discharge planning in collaboration with the healthcare team.

The role requires an active Texas RN license and a Diploma in Nursing (or equivalent), with a BLS within 1 month of hire.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 month (30 days) of hire; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing prior to hire date.
• Diploma in nursing required OR a bachelor’s degree not in nursing with an active RN license and enrolled in an Alternate Entry MSN program with at least 1 year completed.

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors patient care plans; records and communicates patient condition.
• Serves as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
