Ascension Seton Northwest in Austin, TX seeks a Nurse Manager to lead nursing and support staff on the Med Surg unit during the night shift. The role focuses on assigning, directing, and educating team members, planning shifts and patient care, and ensuring high-quality care within productivity standards.

This full-time position requires RN licensure and BLS certification, with at least 1 year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 month (30 days) of hire date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse licensure obtained prior to hire date.

Responsibilities

• Assigns, directs, educates and monitors nursing and support associates during assigned shifts.
• Meets with staff and exercises independent judgment to plan the shifts, services, and patient care.
• Assesses daily patient care needs and develops and distributes patient care assignments, ensuring population appropriate patient care and accountability for productivity standards.
• Responds to complaints about patient care and manages through established channels.
• Facilitates availability of adequate material, resources and supplies.
• Sets priorities appropriate to daily patient/physician dynamics.
• Provides input into hiring, training, directing, development and evaluation of staff.
