Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or current enrollment in a bachelor’s program for nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse Licensure.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Minimum 3 years of medical-surgical nursing experience and at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Manages daily operations of the assigned department to align with objectives.
• Directs patient care within the assigned scope.
• Develops departmental goals, standards and objectives supporting the vision.
• Manages staff relations including performance, satisfaction, and conflict.

• Manages the daily operations of the assigned department functioning to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.
• Responsible for the direction of patient care with the assigned scope.
• Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
• Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management.
• Performs and oversees scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
• Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations.
• Determines and justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and/or stock supplies.
• Assesses the quality of patient care delivered and coordinates patient care services with patients, staff, physicians, and other departments. May provide patient care when necessary.
• Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
• Integrates evidence‑based practices into operations and clinical protocols.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing or current enrollment in a bachelor’s program for nursing required.
• Licenses: Current Registered Nurse Licensure.
• Certifications: Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Minimum Work Experience: Three or more years of experience in all aspects of medical surgical nursing and a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.
