Job summary

Baystate Health is recruiting a Nurse Manager for WETU, Postpartum and Lactation Services/Parent Education at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. The role provides clinical and operational leadership, overseeing staffing, patient care, quality, safety, and regulatory compliance to achieve excellent maternal, newborn, and family outcomes.

The position requires a MA RN license, BLS, a BSN, and at least 5 years of nursing experience in a related setting, with strong leadership and budget

Qualifications

• Must hold MA RN license and valid BLS certification.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Minimum 5 years of nursing experience in related setting; leadership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain staffing plans, schedules, and assignments to meet patient care needs and operational demands.
• Conduct staff performance management, coaching, feedback, competency validation, and corrective action as needed.
• Manage departmental budgets, supplies, equipment, and other resources to support efficient operations.
• Establish and monitor department goals, workflows, and performance metrics with continuous improvement.
• Coordinate orientation, onboarding, education, and ongoing competency development for team members.
• Partner with Human Resources, nursing leadership, medical staff, and other departments to resolve issues.
• Lead process improvement and change initiatives with effective implementation.
• Respond to patient, family, and staff concerns with timely resolution and service recovery.
