Job summary

MercyOne Genesis is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager for Outpatient Services to direct patient care across the Emergency, Trauma, Emergency Preparedness and Cardiopulmonary departments. You will supervise a large staff and oversee resources in line with hospital guidelines and regulatory standards.

This role emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, data-driven performance improvement, and evidence-based practice, with accountability for RN core competencies and a patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Field of Study: Nursing.
• Special Training: Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Training Preferred: Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• Licensure/Registration: Registered Nurse in Iowa.
• Experience: More than 3 years of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction for outpatient services and patient care in the Emergency, Trauma, Emergency Preparedness and Cardiopulmonary departments.
• Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and lead performance improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and Critical Access Hospital standards.
• Supervise a large team across multiple shifts (12+ staff) and manage resources.

As the Outpatient Services Manager, you will provide overall direction for the practice and delivery of patient care in the Emergency, Trauma, Emergency Preparedness and Cardiopulmonary departments in accordance with hospital guidelines and organizational philosophies. This includes oversight of management of human and material resources in accordance with hospital, state and federal regulations (such as Joint Commission and Critical Access Hospital standards). Key accountabilities include fostering interdisciplinary collaborative relationships; using critical thinking, designing/implementing performance improvement strategies based on data; and promoting evidence-based practice. Meets PCA specific RN core competencies.

Report To: Chief Nurse Executive

Supervisory Responsibility: Large Group Responsibility (Multiple Shift): The job requires direct supervision of more than 12 employees. Job duties include the full range of supervisory activities such as hiring, training, assigning, monitoring and assessing work, promoting etc. Work involves ensuring that human resource related decisions are compatible with the organization’s policies, practices and direction. Incumbent has multiple shift responsibilities for staff.

Materials Responsibility: Moderate: Work requires moderate responsibility for material resources. Examples of resources could include operating budgets for a work unit or department, specialized equipment, costly or unusual materials or supplies, large amounts of cash or other material assets. The employee has a moderate amount of control over these resources. The cost of errors might result in moderate damage, waste or financial loss. The difficulty, variety and depth of problems associated with these material resources is moderately complex.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree
• Field Of Study: Nursing
• Special Training: Basic Life Support
• Training Preferred: Masters Degree in Nursing
• Licensure/Registration: Registered Nurse in Iowa
• Experience: More than 3 years experience required.
