Job Summary and Qualifications

• Responsible for departmental functions supporting hospital mission, vision, and goals.
• Identify cost-effective systems considering business trends and resource availability.
• Establish effective relationships with patients, physicians, staff, volunteers, and vendors.
• Manage fiscal and human resources within guidelines.
• Develop care plans based on RN assessments.
• Maintain all requirements to function as a staff nurse in high census or minimal staffing times.

Education/Experience

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school; advanced degree preferred.
• Five years of management experience, including personnel, payroll, budgets, and physician relations preferred.
• Labor and Delivery experience required.
• Competent in L&D clinical practice.

Licensure/Certification

• Current RN license in Texas or a compact state.
• Current BLS provider certification from AHA or ARC.
• NRP certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Complete AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring Course within 1 year of hire or provide documentation of completion.
