About the Role
Springside Infusion is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager / Nurse Practitioner to lead clinical operations and nursing care across our growing outpatient infusion centers in Maryland. This is a hands‑on leadership role for an experienced infusion nurse who can set a high standard for patient care, support and develop nursing staff, and help build consistent clinical processes as we expand to additional locations.
The Nurse Manager / Nurse Practitioner will work closely with the leadership team and will serve as a key clinical leader for the nursing team. The ideal candidate brings strong outpatient infusion experience, sound clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a growing, patient-centered organization.
This position is based in our Bowie clinic and you will be required to travel to our other locations in MD (currently Columbia, Frederick, and Silver Spring).
What You'll Do
Clinical Leadership & Patient Care
- Provide day-to-day clinical leadership for nursing staff and support safe, high-quality patient care in the outpatient infusion setting.
- Oversee infusion services and ensure nursing care is delivered in accordance with physician orders, treatment plans, clinical protocols, and applicable standards.
- Support patient assessments, IV therapy, medication administration, monitoring during treatment, and recognition and response to adverse reactions or changes in patient condition.
- Promote consistent clinical practices, patient safety, infection prevention, and quality of care across the clinic.
- Serve as a clinical resource to nurses and other clinic staff, using strong critical thinking and judgment to address patient-care issues.
- Own accountability for clinical policy, emergency procedures, and escalations applying best practices to ensure clinical consistency and readiness in situations that could lead to patient risk
Nursing Team Management
- Lead, coach, and support nursing staff, fostering a collaborative, accountable, and patient-focused culture.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, competency assessment, scheduling, performance management, and ongoing professional development of nursing team members.
- Establish clear expectations for clinical performance, documentation, communication, and patient experience.
- Identify staffing needs and help ensure appropriate nursing coverage as clinic volume and locations grow.
- Conduct and participate in staff meetings, huddles, education sessions, and other leadership activities.
Operations, Documentation & Coordination
- Help develop and implement standardized workflows, policies, procedures, and clinical processes for infusion operations.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical documentation and compliance with applicable requirements.
- Coordinate closely with referring physicians, specialists, pharmacy partners, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team.
- Communicate proactively with referring providers regarding patient status, treatment concerns, and clinical needs.
- Partner with leadership to identify operational improvements and help scale consistent practices across additional clinic locations.
- Travel between Maryland clinic locations as needed.
- Model professionalism, empathy, and kindness in every patient interaction.
- Help create a welcoming and efficient patient experience from arrival through completion of treatment.
- Address patient concerns and complaints promptly, professionally, and non-defensively.
- Promote a culture in which patients and referring providers feel informed, respected, and well supported.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
NURSE PRACTITIONER REQUIREMENT: This position requires candidates to be a currently licensed and certified Nurse Practitioner in the state of Maryland.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license and current Nurse Practitioner (NP) certification/licensure in the state of Maryland.
- 10+ years of nursing experience, with significant clinical experience in an infusion setting, including experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Prior nursing leadership, charge nurse, clinical supervisor, nurse management, or advanced practice leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated hands‑on infusion experience, including IV therapies, patient assessment and monitoring, medication administration, and management of infusion-related reactions or complications.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, providers, and staff.
- Ability to work independently while effectively leading a multidisciplinary team.
- Comfort working in a growing organization where priorities and processes may evolve.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or higher, with current Nurse Practitioner certification and Maryland NP licensure.
- Experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner and/or leading an outpatient infusion center or specialty clinic.
- Familiarity with emerging therapies and specialty treatment trends, contributing clinical perspective to Business Development's referring provider targeting and growth strategy.
- Experience in oncology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, neurology, immunology, or specialty pharmacy-related infusion services.
- Experience opening a new clinic, implementing clinical workflows, or supporting multi‑site operations.
- Experience with electronic medical records, scheduling systems, and clinical documentation platforms.
