Job description

We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Manager to lead our Med/Surg Oncology Unit serving a diverse patient population. The nurse leader is responsible for nursing practice and delivering quality care for medical oncology patients, ensuring superior clinical outcomes, while creating an environment of compassionate care.

You will collaborate closely with physician leaders and nursing staff to oversee 24-hour operations, identify growth opportunities, and foster a culture where every team member feels heard, valued, and empowered. *Key responsibilities include:*
* Spearheading quality improvement initiatives, strategic planning, and educational programs
* Enhancing patient satisfaction, streamlining workflows, and driving optimal outcomes
* Managing budgets and ensuring cost-effective use of resources across service lines
* Overseeing staff onboarding, training, and evaluations
* Ensuring all staff maintain current licensure, certifications, and clinical competencies
* Developing and upholding standards of practice that align with hospital policy and regulatory guidelines

*Minimum requirements:*
* A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required
* A Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred
* Active New York State RN license and BCLS certification
* 3-5 years’ progressive leadership experience; Nurse Manager experience desirable
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in hematology/oncology
* Oncology Nursing Certification (ONCC) preferred
* Strong clinical judgment across a broad range of medical conditions
* Excellent communication and computer skills
