Job summary

CommonSpirit Health in Colorado Springs seeks a Manager of Nursing to lead clinical nursing practices and patient care delivery on assigned unit(s), driving daily operations to meet departmental goals and foster a high-quality care environment.

You will manage resources, promote a positive work environment, support staff development, and emphasize evidence-based practice and education to sustain outstanding patient care and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (required).
  • Three (3) years RN experience (required).
  • One (1) year clinical leadership experience (required).
  • Current RN license to practice in state of employment as applicable (required).
  • Nursing Specialty Certification: sit within six (6) months, and must achieve within two (2) years of hire to the role (required).
  • Master's Degree in Nursing preferred (nice to have).

Responsibilities

  • Develop, monitor, and respond to a full range of financial, service, and quality indicators in all areas of responsibilities.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing plan matching competency with patient acuity.
  • Focus on patient safety, patient experience, and performance improvement in alignment with unit/department goals.
  • Involve associates in decision through shared governance structure.
  • Maintain compliance with operational procedures/organizational policies for the clinical activities and regulatory readiness.
  • Conduct an evaluation of productivity and collaborate with finance to forecast revenue and expenses to prepare and manage the unit/department’s budget.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with associates, physicians, and patients.

Every day you will manage human, fiscal, material, support, and systems resources. You will consistently promote a positive work environment, prioritize associate engagement, and support staff development needs with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education.

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong leadership, operational, and financial management skills, a deep understanding of clinical nursing practices, and a proven ability to foster a positive, high-performing team dedicated to quality patient care and continuous improvement.
