Job summary

Mount Sinai South Nassau in Oceanside, NY, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the Critical Care/assigned area. Graduate of accredited nursing program, NYS RN license, 3-5 years CCU experience, and current BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications are required.

In this role you will complete orientation, participate in mandatory in-service education, demonstrate clinical excellence, leadership, and collaboration with the care team. A Master’s or ANCC/AONE certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with RN licensure.
• Current New York State RN license to practice nursing.
• 3–5 years of critical care experience in a relevant area.
• BLS and/or ACLS, PALS; CPI if required for assigned area.
• Completion of in-house orientation and annual in-service education.
• Clinical skills relevant to the assigned area; strong communication.
• Leadership, teambuilding, and critical thinking abilities; Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Nurse Executive (ANCC) or CNML certification preferred.

We require:

• Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Professional Nursing (A degree in nursing is required – Baccalaureate and/or Graduate degree; A Master’s Degree is preferred)
• Current and valid New York State registration authorizing practice as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN)
• 3-5 years Critical Care experience
• Certifications for assigned area of practice: BLS and/or ACLS, PALS and CPI if required for assigned area of practice.
• Completion of in-house orientation program
• Completion of annual mandatory in-service education (Hospital/Nursing)
• Clinical experience/skills relevant to the assigned area of practice
• Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills (speaks, reads and writes English)
• Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite)
• Highly developed skills in leadership, public relations, teambuilding, problem solving, decision‑making, conflict management, analytical skills and critical thinking abilities
• Nurse Executive (ANCC) or Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (AONE) or appropriate clinical/specialty certification preferred.
