• Assess staff competency in PHR and provide feedback.
• Conduct daily patient rounding when the Nurse Manager is away.
• Communicate patient experience and staff engagement details.
• Collaborate with the physician dyad and elevate concerns as needed.
• Follow up on patient concerns in a timely manner.

About This Role

The Assistant Nurse Manager for Intermediate Care Stepdown IMCU is a Registered Professional Nurse who serves as a clinical leader in the daily functioning of the unit and oversees quality patient care delivery, in conjunction with or in the absence of the Nurse Manager.

What You’ll Do

• Lead nursing practice using the tenets of the Professional Practice Model of Relationship Centered Care.
• Demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of Purposeful Hourly Rounding (PHR).
• Ensure integration of PHR into clinical activities to enhance Relationship Centered Care.
• Assist in the validation of staff members rounding hourly on all patients.
• Assess staff competency in PHR and provide meaningful feedback.
• Conduct rounding of all patients daily when Nurse Manager is away.
• Communicate information regarding patient experience and staff engagement.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Science with a major in nursing required; Masters in nursing or health-related field preferred.

Experience

• 2 years minimum clinical nursing experience with some Charge Nurse/supervisory experience preferred.

Licenses & Certifications

• Licensed as a registered nurse with current registration in New York State.
• ACLS, BLS.
