Job summary

MidState Medical Center in Meriden, CT is seeking an Assistant Nursing Manager (RN). You will supervise patient care, clinical staff, and unit operations, supporting the hospital's strategic plan and department goals in a 6am-2:30pm salary position.

This role collaborates with nursing leadership to oversee daily operations, including off-shift and weekend supervision, payroll and schedules, and driving performance improvement to ensure a safe, patient-centered care environment.

Qualifications

• BSN is required and a BSN must be obtained within 3 years for incumbents as of March 1, 2024.
• Master’s degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adjust unit staffing patterns to reflect care requirements and patient census.
• Provide performance feedback, reviews, promotions, and corrective actions for staff.
• Manage staffing schedules and payroll, addressing attendance issues.
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and regulatory standards through rounding and audits.
• Support leadership in decision making and communicate policies to staff.
• Participate in department and hospital committees and lead quality improvement initiatives.
