Job summary

Backus Hospital in Connecticut is seeking a Nurse Manager (RN) to lead 24-hour planning, organizing, directing and evaluating clinical, administrative and regulatory activities for the assigned department.

The role requires a BSN (MS preferred), at least 3 years of clinical practice and 2 years of progressive leadership, BLS certification, and a commitment to Lean principles, safety and staff development. Excellent communication and collaboration across departments are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Master of Science in Nursing preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in clinical practice
• Minimum 2 years of progressive leadership experience required
• BLS provider credentialed from AHA
• Certification in specialty area required within 3 years of start date

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct and evaluate 24-hour clinical, administrative and regulatory activities for the assigned department
• Lead clinical and safety practices, drive quality improvement and staff development
• Coach and mentor staff; manage change and conflict across teams
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and financial stewardship
