Job summary

Decatur Memorial Hospital seeks a Nurse Manager to lead a designated unit or units within the Decatur Memorial Health and Nursing Division. You will be accountable for 24-hour unit operations, care quality, and staff development while fostering communication, teamwork, and professional nursing standards.

The role requires a BSN, Illinois RN licensure, and a minimum of three years’ acute care leadership experience; a master's degree is preferred and national specialty certification is encouraged.

Qualifications

• BSN required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Current Illinois RN licensure required.
• Holds national specialty nursing certification in clinical area or nursing administration, or completes within 24 months of assuming role.
• Minimum three years’ experience in acute care nursing with progressive leadership/management skills.

Job Description Summary: The Nurse Manager operates within the Decatur Memorial Health (DMH) and Nursing Division mission, vision, strategic priorities and goals. Utilizing a shared leadership philosophy, the Nurse Manager assumes 24-hour accountability for unit management and the quality of patient care on a designated unit(s). The Nurse Manager creates and maintains a work environment conducive to effective communication, collaboration, teambuilding and nursing professionalism. Assures that care provided on the unit is appropriate to the age of the patients served and that staff are competent to provide safe, quality, evidence-based nursing care. Maintains positive physician and interdepartmental relationships as well as positive employee morale. Embodies the Memorial Health System Performance Excellence Standards of Safety, Courtesy, Quality, and Efficiency that support our mission, vision and values.

Job Description:

• Education: BSN required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Licensure/Certification/Registry:
  • Current Illinois RN licensure required.
  • Holds national specialty nursing certification in clinical area or nursing administration, or completes within 24 months of assuming role.
• Experience: Minimum three years’ experience in acute care nursing as a registered nurse with demonstrated progressive leadership/management skills.
• Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Demonstrated understanding of nurse-sensitive quality indicators and basic hospital/nursing regulatory requirements.

Pay Transparency $47.65 - $73.86

Additional compensation in the form(s) of participation in our annual incentive program are dependent on role. Pay is based on factors such as work experience, education, certification(s), training, skills, and competencies related to the role.
