Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Manager for Complex Case Management and ED to lead clinical operations, oversee discharge planning, and supervise RN and non-RN staff. This role analyzes patient flow, reduces length of stay, and drives performance metrics for complex inpatient discharges, including patients experiencing homelessness and those in conservatorship.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate nursing program (BSN) required by start date.
• Masters degree in nursing or a health-care related field preferred.
• CCM or related certification attained within 24 months from the hire date is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assumes overall unit management within established policies, procedures, labor and supply budgets in the absence of the nurse director.
• Supervises RN and non-RN staff according to policies, procedures and union contracts.
• Coaches, counsels, and disciplines staff; coordinates problem solving with nurse director.
• Promotes practice in compliance with statutes and regulations (DPH, Joint Commission, OSHA).
• Coordinates clinical activities to ensure safe, efficient unit functioning and patient flow.
