Job summary

Canyon Creek Behavioral Health is a 102-bed acute care psychiatric hospital in Temple, Texas, seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to coordinate patient care and supervise RN, MHT staff and house supervisors. You will collaborate with the DON/ADON on training, staffing, and quality initiatives within a patient-centered environment.

The Nurse Manager role requires leadership, adherence to care standards, and participation in Treatment Team activities to improve performance and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing required or equivalent combination of education and experience in nursing management; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Experience: A minimum of five years of progressive nursing leadership experience; Experience in staff education and education concepts, practices and procedures and 24 hour shift staffing experience
• Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing or possesses Compact State RN license
• Additional Requirements: Successful completion of Handle with Care Training, Service Excellence Training, and CPR certification required. Certifications must be obtained during new hire orientation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all staff members deliver care in accordance with the Standards of Care and Practice.
• Develop staffing schedules for Full Time Staff in accordance with patient needs.
• Provide supervision and direction in accordance with Nursing Department’s goals and objectives to all nursing staff and conducts disciplinary actions where indicated.
• Demonstrate guest relations in communication, cooperation and in giving assistance to patients, physicians/licensed practitioners, coworkers and visitors in a prompt and courteous manner.
