Job summary

Inova Behavioral Health Services, based in Merrifield, VA, seeks a dedicated Nurse Manager to lead a nursing unit. This full-time, day-shift role (Mon–Fri) includes travel to ambulatory care sites 2–3 times weekly to ensure high-quality patient care and staff development.

You will mentor team members, uphold Joint Commission standards, and drive improvements in care delivery in alignment with Inova Health System's mission.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support certification is required.
• Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience related to the unit's scope.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required.

The Nurse Manager oversees assigned unit to ensure it is performing effectively, which may include but not limited to, hiring and training team members, creating and implementing business strategies, managing performance of team members, and delegating tasks. Manages a nursing unit with 24-hour responsibility through demonstrated leadership and supporting behavioral competencies. Utilizes the Joint Commission standards and nursing practice tools/research to support a care delivery system that produces quality care with optimal outcomes. Serves as a primary liaison and information resource for unit of responsibility while overseeing the provision of therapeutic care in a holistic and evidence-based environment, which produces excellent patient care with optimal patient outcomes. Provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice while serving as a resource and a mentor to team members and showing respect for and an appreciation for the contributions of all team members. Consistently supports Inova Health System's mission and strategic plans.

Minimum Qualifications

• Certification - Basic Life Support
• Licensure - Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
• Experience - 2 years of nursing experience related to the unit's scope.
• Education - Bachelors Degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

• 2-3 years previous Behavioral Health experience strongly preferred
• Previous nursing supervisory experience preferred
