Job summary

St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT, seeks an Assistant Nursing Manager (RN) to supervise patient care, clinical personnel, and unit operations.

The role supports leadership in daily operations, including off-shift supervision, staffing, payroll, and quality initiatives, ensuring safe, family-centered care aligned with the hospital’s strategic plan. The position requires a BSN, CT RN licensure, and BLS; 2 years of acute care experience with supervisory exposure preferred.

Qualifications

• BSN required; incumbents must obtain BSN within 3 years of start date
• Master’s degree preferred
• 2 years of acute care nursing experience required
• At least 1 year supervisory experience preferred
• Perioperative/GI/Operating Room experience preferred but not required
• RN licensure in CT and BLS certification required

Responsibilities

• Adjust unit staffing patterns in collaboration with the Charge/Resource Nurse
• Develop and coach colleagues; conduct performance feedback and reviews
• Manage staffing schedules and payroll; monitor attendance
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and regulatory standards; perform tracers and audits
• Assist leadership with investigations of patient concerns and KPI monitoring
• Communicate decisions and policies to staff; cascade information from leadership
• Participate in department and hospital committees
• Perform other related responsibilities as required
