Universal Health Services in California seeks a Nurse Manager/Education Coordinator to provide clinical leadership and oversee nursing staff in the assigned area, ensuring care aligns with hospital policies and infection control standards.
The role requires an ADN/ASN with California RN licensure, 3 years psychiatric nursing including Charge Nurse or Nursing Supervisor, and willingness to lead staff education and coordinate HR-related procedures.
Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), the Nurse Manager/Education Coordinator (NM/EC) provides continuous nursing care in the assigned area(s) in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of the Hospital and within the framework of established policies and procedures of the Department of Nursing Services. The NM/EC is responsible for the clinical leadership, ongoing education, and coordination of all nursing personnel. As a key team member in the clinical area, the NM/EC promotes a climate of effective performance through role modeling, willingness to learn and teach, and availability to patients and staff. Organizes, manages and coordinates nursing services and will assure quality nursing care, utilizing the nursing process, as outlined by the Nurse Practice Act. Functions as representative for the CNO, in the CNO's absence and is responsible for oversight of the Infection Control Coordinator and to address employee health issues.
The NM/EC who is a Registered Nurse may serve as a Qualified Medical Professional (QMP) and/or a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) to perform medical screens (Medical and Mental Health Component) to determine whether an individual has an emergency medical condition.
Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required. Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nursing preferred.
Credentials: Licensure by the California Board of Registered Nursing required.
