Job summary

Novant Health seeks a Nurse Manager to lead the Emergency Department and Medical/Surgical units at the Danbury, NC location. This FT role oversees clinical operations, staff performance, quality outcomes, and regulatory compliance to ensure safe, high-quality patient care while supporting departmental goals.

The Nurse Manager will coordinate in a demanding, multi-unit environment and partner with leadership to drive improvements and staff development.

Qualifications

• Education: BSN required; graduate degree preferred.
• Experience: 2 years leadership; 3 years acute care RN preferred.
• Licensure: Current RN license in appropriate state (NC if working there).
• Know-how: regulatory standards, budgeting, staffing, payroll, and safety policies.

What You'll Do

Nurse Manager - Emergency Department & Medical/Surgical Services

The Nurse Manager provides leadership for the Emergency Department and Medical/Surgical units, overseeing clinical operations, staff performance, quality outcomes, and regulatory compliance. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, high-quality patient care while supporting operational and financial goals.

What We're Looking For

Education: 4 Year/Bachelors Degree in Nursing, Required. Graduate Degree, Preferred.

Experience: 2 years demonstrated leadership experience, Preferred. 3 years clinical RN experience in an acute care setting, Preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, Required. NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, Required. Board certification in area of practice, Preferred.

Additional Skills/Requirements (required): Understands and applies: current and future trends/practice in area of responsibility; regulatory and governing standards, policies and procedures; information systems and software used in area of responsibility; equipment used in performing assigned duties; application of safety and infection control policies and procedures; skills in interviewing and selection process; understanding of budgeting, staffing, payroll and purchasing processes; implementation of competency, feedback, development and progressive discipline processes; teambuilding, conflict management, and interpersonal relationship skills; principles of adult learning and teaching methods/models; decision making, project leadership and consultation, delegation and communication skills; customer needs and expectations and knowledge for improvement to exceed customer expectations; principles of change management.
