Job summary

Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for the Med/Surg Unit. You will provide clinical and administrative leadership at the unit level, mentoring staff, managing performance, and handling scheduling to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

Ideal candidates bring RN clinical experience, leadership background, and current RN licensure. Relocation assistance is available and weekend rotation may be required as part of a 12-hour/8-hour shift schedule.

Schedule: Work hours are Monday- Friday with some weekends, 2 twelve hour shifts and 2 eight hour shifts with call and holiday rotation

As the Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) for the Med/Surg Unit, you’ll provide both clinical and administrative leadership at the unit level—supporting your team through mentorship, performance management, scheduling, and ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.

The ANM will play a key role in maintaining operational efficiency, fostering collaboration among nursing team, and supporting Novant Health’s commitment to remarkable patient outcomes.

Preferred Skill Sets:

• At least 1 years of bedside nursing experience
• Leadership experience highly preferred such as charge, precepting or unit council team
• Excellentcommunicationandteam-buildingabilities

What We're Looking For

• Education:
  • 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required.
  • BSN, preferred.
  • Graduate Degree, preferred
• Experience:
  • Minimum of two years of clinical RN experience, preferred.
  • Prior demonstrated nursing leadership, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification:
  • Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
  • NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required.
  • Unit/Dept Specific Required Certifications.
• Additional Skills (required):
  • Successful completion of generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Ability to successfully complete Leader Education & Training.
