Job summary

Jefferson County Public Schools is seeking a Nurse LPN to join our health services team at Thomas Jefferson Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year. The role starts at 8:40 AM and reports to the health services leadership, with responsibilities under the Kentucky Board of Nursing scope of practice.

The successful candidate will provide health services to students and staff, collaborate with the RN and APRN, and participate in promoting health and wellness across the school community.

Qualifications

• Must hold Kentucky LPN license or compact equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
• Ability to work within school health setting.

Scope of Responsibilities

Functions in an LPN role as defined by the Kentucky Board of Nursing Scope of Practice. Collaborates with the assigned Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Health Services Nurse Practitioners who provide direction and delegation (APRN) to Provide health services as outlined by the Kentucky Board of Nursing Scope of Practice for RNs and Advisory Opinion Statement on Roles of School Nurses in School Nursing Practice. Works with students, staff and families to support health and wellness in assigned work location(s).

Minimum Qualifications

• Current license as a Kentucky Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or license recognized by the KY Board of Nursing through the Interstate Compact
• One (1) year of successful experience
