Job summary

Majestic Care South Bend is seeking an Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our compassionate team. You will render skilled nursing services on an assigned unit, supervise CNAs, document care, and implement physicians' orders in accordance with state regulations.

We offer a $5K sign-on bonus for full-time, a culture built on listening, empathy, accountability and decisiveness, and opportunities for ongoing orientation and in-service training.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program.
• Licensed as an LPN in the state employed; license must be active, valid, and in good standing.
• CPR teaching certificate preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and lead care plan conferences.
• Assess and document residents' condition and nursing needs.
• Administer medications, start IVs, and document treatments.
• Supervise CNAs to ensure high quality care.
• Assist physicians with tests and procedures as allowed.

Position Overview:

Majestic Care LPNs render skilled technical nursing services to residents within an assigned unit/wing in support of medical care as directed by the nursing management team; supervises CNAs to ensure a high quality of care is provided to all residents in that unit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Initiate and lead team conferences in development of individualized nursing care plans.




• Assess and document the residents' condition and nursing needs.




• Accurately and promptly implement physicians' orders.




• Administer medications, start IVs, and perform treatments for assigned residents and document that treatment as required by Majestic Care and local, state, and federal rules and regulations.




• Participate in orientation and in-service training for personnel.




• Assist physicians with special tests and procedures within the scope of state specified Nursing Practice Act.




• Report and record pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents.




• Coordinate nursing care of residents when scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments.




• Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in residents.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.




• Licensed as an LPN in the state employed; license must be active, valid, and in good standing.




• Valid CPR teaching certificate preferred but not required.
