DeKalb CSB seeks an LPN to provide outpatient nursing services in a behavioral health setting. You will assess clients, develop care plans, and deliver treatment and education to individuals and families under physician/ARPn supervision.
Responsibilities include venipuncture, injections, AIMS assessments, vital signs, and coordinating medical/psychiatric care while maintaining a safe, clean clinical environment. Experience in BH preferred.
Under general supervision provides professional nursing services for individuals receiving behavioral healthcare in accordance with medical protocols. Assesses the client’s condition, develops care plans, and provides treatment and education. Participates as a member of the clinical treatment team and offers guidance on matters related to nursing treatment and health related matters. Provides direct nursing services and/or clinical education services to clients and their families/significant others.
PERFORMS DIRECT NURSING CARE SERVICES AND/OR CLINICAL EDUCATION TO CLIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES/SIGNIFICANT OTHERS.
Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensed to practice in the State of Georgia. Must be able to perform venipuncture and medication injections. Must possess basic computer and typing skills. Ability to use an electronic health record. Prior experience working with behavioral health preferred.
Able to professionally interface with clients, families, and caregivers with a recovery-focused and trauma-informed approach. Able to communicate effectively with co-workers at multiple sites, internal and external customers and the public.
Works in an outpatient clinic on a flexible schedule within regular clinic hours. Flexibility to float to other agency sites as needed to assure coverage.
Must be well organized and client focused with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Must be able to provide direction to other staff in emergency situations (behavioral and medical). Must be able to work in a recovery oriented, client focused, and trauma informed care environment.
