Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Staff Nurse Leader to oversee clinical functions, nursing practice standards, and the quality of care for the assigned shift. You will coordinate patient care activities by directing staff on the unit and provide mentorship as a clinical resource.

Ideal candidates have at least five years of acute care RN experience (step-down or ICU), a BSN, and ANCC certification for the unit. Strong leadership, English communication, and the ability to work variable shifts are required.

Qualifications

• Leadership demonstrated in the last three years across projects or roles.
• Five+ years acute care RN experience with four years in step-down or ICU.
• Understanding of patient classification system & staffing requirements.
• BSN required for external candidates.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Excellent English reading/writing/communication.
• ANCC certification specific to this unit.

Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical functions and standards of care for the assigned shift.
• Coordinate patient care by directing unit staff and serving as a clinical resource.
• Provide break relief coverage and model professional nursing practice.
