Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
• Has or obtains Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Six (6) months of experience as a registered nurse.

Responsibilities

• Performs major duties and functions as described for Staff Nurse.
• Identifies physical and psycho-social signs and symptoms and applies essential nursing measures.
• Develops, implements and evaluates nursing regimens for assigned patients.
• Records and maintains nursing care plans and progress notes for continuity of care.
• Interprets and reports patient responses to the health team.
• Works with interdisciplinary teams to plan comprehensive patient care.
• Provides teaching and direction to allied nursing personnel.
• Participates in maintaining standards of nursing practice and policy.
• Contributes to conferences to develop care plans and staff development.
