Demonstrates integrity, stability, imagination, and discriminative judgment in instruction of nursing students. Contributes to the research and development of the educational program. **Job Duties*** Creates an environment in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings that facilitates student learning and achievement of desired cognitive, affective, and psychomotor outcomes.* Assists students to develop as nurses and integrates the values and behaviors expected of those who fulfill that role.* Uses a variety of strategies to assess and evaluate student learning in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings.* Formulates program outcomes and designs curricula that reflect contemporary healthcare trends and prepares graduates to function effectively in the healthcare environment.* Functions as a change agent and leader to create a preferred future for nursing education and nursing practice.* Pursues continuous quality improvement in the nurse educator role.* Engages in scholarship.* Functions within the educational environment. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. \*Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
